The location of Cordero Fishing lodge allows you to go salmon fishing for all 5 species of Pacific salmon. The Lodge is ideally situated between Vancouver Island and the BC mainland coast to take advantage of strong runs of all species of salmon - chinook, coho, chum, pink, sockeye and Tyee. And of course fishing here always includes dropping a line for plentiful bottom fish including cod, snapper and halibut.

The remote location of this fishing lodge allows you to choose to "fish with the crowd" or discover your very own fishing hole right on our doorstep!

Enhance your fishing experience with a local fishing guide or venture out on your own. Cordero Lodge offers boat rentals along with fishing instruction and supervision. Either way, you can be assured of a totally unique British Columbia wilderness holiday of boating and fishing.

Cordero Lodge provides 17' and 20' cruisers, fully equipped with 2 electric downriggers, radio, fishfinder and top-of-the-line fishing tackle. Chinook and Coho salmon are just waiting for the adventurous angler! It's up to you to find and catch them! The lodge also provides fish packaging and storage.

You are welcome to bring your own boat and book moorage at the marina. If you choose to rent a boat and equipment you won't be completely on your own, (unless you want to be)... Reinhardt is happy to provide supervision and fishing instruction at any time!

Spend the day fishing for salmon or bottom fishing for ling cod, rock fish, red snapper and the odd halibut! Combine fishing, with crabbing, prawning or clam-digging, all excellent in our area.

Is Fly Fishing on your agenda?
A guided day trip to a nearby river or remote lake to fish for cutthroat trout can be arranged.

Please note that:

  • All trout and salmon must be released.
  • Bring your own fly-fishing gear.
  • Please purchase your fly-fishing license prior to your arrival.
  • Extensive hikes ocassionally may be necessary to access good fishing spots.

Canada is known for its wildlife and when you are boating in Johnstone Strait and the Discovery Islands there are always elements of surprise.

Keep your eyes open and you could watch as a bear roams over the barnacle covered rocks looking for his lunch, witness a pod of killer whales rolling tranquilly through the rapids or feel your spirits lifted by the sight of magnificent bald eagles soaring over our evergreen islands.
