Cordero Lodge & Marina is no longer just a BC boating secret!
For many years boaters traveling BC’s Cordero Passage between the fishing hot-spots near Stuart Island and ports further west along Johnstone Strait have detoured to this floating inn for much needed R&R. Cordero Fishing Lodge also offers salmon fishing packages and trout fishing packages including accommodations, all meals, boat rentals, fishing gear, fishing guides, instruction and supervision as well as fish packaging and storage (so you can take home your fresh caught BC salmon and bottom fish.

How it came to be...
The most common question people ask of Cordero Lodge owners Doris and Reinhardt Kuppers is "How did you ever decide to move to this place?" Their story goes something like this:

Over thirty years ago,
Doris and Reinhardt were boating in the Queen Charlotte Islands. Although they lost their boat in a storm they decided, within three months, that urban life in their hometown of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada was not remote enough to suit them. So they chose a spot as removed in mood and setting from Vancouver as possible.

As experienced BC boaters the Kuppers were well aware of the winter winds and the fierce, year-round tidal currents of the area of Johnstone Strait between the west coast of British Columbia, Canada and Vancouver Island. They tucked their floating home into a quiet nook behind Lorte Island in Cordero Channel, north of the Stuart Island area.

Because they wanted to share their little piece of BC coastal paradise with fellow boaters, they expanded by attaching a solid barge as a front patio and additional floats for boat moorage. The ambitious couple then opened Cordero Lodge & Marina for business, raised their daughter Kellie here and have since offered world class salmon fishing, comfortable lodgings, delicious, authentic German fare and unending hospitality to guests from all over the world.
